WINTER 2023/24
Spartan Sports Basketball provides area boys the opportunity to learn and practice the fundamentals of basketball in a structured setting and to experience basketball at a competitive level against other teams their age.
Ages
Grades: Players 2nd-8th
When
Tryouts for Fall/Winter 2023/24 start September 13.
Practices will then be held starting the week of October 23.
Games are then start on November 18/19and end January 28.
Where
Practices are held at park district and school gyms located in Chicago, Niles & Norridge.
Practices
Each Silver team will be scheduled for two practices a week. Dates, times and locations will be announced once we know how many teams we will be fielding this season. We do our best to accommodate all our teams as much as possible.
Gold teams practice three times per week.
Games
Silver teams play a 16 game season, broken into 8 tournaments. Games are held on Saturdays and Sundays.
Gold teams play a 20 game season.
Jerseys
Players are asked to purchase a reversible practice jersey from Coach Dwayne. Price is $20.
Extra Costs
Spartan Sports Basketball has partnered with NIKE's Gear UP program. Uniforms must be purchased through their link.
elite teams
These teams have a longer season, more practice time, more games and tougher competition.
Frequently Asked Questions
How are jersey number assigned?
Returning players get first choice on numbers. New players will submit three choices and will be assigned one, unless all three have been assigned already.
